Smoothie Bowl Recipe

Simplest Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe

This strawberry banana smoothie is an easy, wholesome recipe made with 4-5 ingredients depending on your preferences. The fundamental recipe is creamy, sweet, healthy and can be made with dairy or dairy-free. Sometimes if I need a little extra nourishment, I'll make it into a bowl and add some delicious toppings. It truly is as easy as adding the strawberries, frozen banana, milk and yogurt to your blender and blending until nice and creamy. If you make it as per the recipe below, it should be cold and drinkable. The perfect consistency!

Here's what you'll need...

2 cups fresh strawberries, halved

1 banana, quartered and frozen

1/2 cup Greek yogurt

1/2 cup Milk

Additions

As I mentioned before, sometimes I'll add some yummy additions when I'm extra hungry (which has been the case lately since I'm expecting). I've been adding a little protein, chia seeds, granola, honey and leftover fruit to the top. I always feel good when I take a few extra minutes to make this recipe instead of reaching for cereal ― which I've been craving endlessly (!!) I know with a newborn and toddler I'll continue to enjoy simple, healthy things like this at the beginning of the day.

A Few Notes

Don’t use all frozen fruit. If you were to use both frozen strawberries and a frozen banana, you’re likely to end up with a super thick texture. Use fresh strawberries and a frozen banana. If you only have frozen strawberries, let them thaw before using.

Make it with dairy or dairy-free. You can make this strawberry banana smoothie with dairy or dairy-free/vegan. You can use regular milk or my or any healthy store-bought dairy-free milk or yogurt options as well.

Don’t add ice. Using a frozen banana in the recipe keeps the drink cold, but it doesn’t water it down. Adding ice to smoothies makes them watery pretty quickly.
