Now that Meriwether is a little over a year, I feel like I have a good sense of the things we’ve loved and used most. I’m big into researching, reading reviews and getting the very best, most functional things. I really tried to specifically register for the items I knew I would need, and so far I think I did a pretty decent job. I hate having a bunch of items I rarely use – it makes me feel wasteful and guilty (anyone else?).
So today on the blog, we’ve rounded up 8 baby buys that both Meriwether and I have absolutely loved during her 13 months. This list isn’t everything we love and use, of course, but they’re definitely top of the list for us!
No. 1 | Oil & Carol Vintage Elephant
Every baby needs some fun toys and this company is one of our favorites! Meriwether loves this cute little Oil & Carol Teether Toy. Not only is it adorable, but it’s also made from 100% natural rubber from Malaysian Hevea Trees. Additionally, it’s hand painted with safe, natural food grade dyes – so it’s ready to go for some good chewing! (The trunk and tail are Meriwether’s faves)
With biodegradable & ecological materials, it’s fully non-toxic: BPA, PVC, phthalate & nitrosamine free! Needless to say, your baby is SAFE with this one.
Meriwether has 12 teeth so far, so she used it a lot to chew on (especially the trunk), but we also use it as a fun bath toy! We have a few other toys that are the same brand and they are some of our absolute favorites.
No. 2 | Fast Table Chair
Meriwether LOVES going out to eat. She loves seeing other people, waving to them, and of course, eating all the food. This Inglesina Fast Table Chair is easy and secure. It fits tables up to 3.5” thick and it’s super portable! (We actually keep it in our trunk so we always have it on hand.) It’s pretty much an all-in-one that features a collapsable design, washable & durable materials, and storage pockets. The thing I love most about this product is I don’t have to put her in a germ filled high chair. I’m not a germaphobe by any means, but the high chair situation in most restaurants grosses me out. haha I also love when I can purchase a practical baby necessity that’s neutral in color and made from quality materials.
No. 3 | BIBS BPA-Free Natural Rubber Baby Pacifier
This Natural Rubber Baby Pacifier is Meriwether’s favorite! It’s both pretty and safe. Made 100% free from BPA, PVC, and phthalates – you can rest easy knowing your baby is enjoying this natural pacifier. It’s also not too heavy and doesn’t fall out easily in the night when she’s sleeping (which is a big deal in our house). They come in a vast array of colors and they even make glow in the dark versions! We live and die by our pacifier (haha) so this one comes highly recommended if your little one enjoys a paci.
No. 4 | Green Sprouts Organic Cotton Bibs
This is one of my absolute favorite Amazon buys. These Green Sprouts Muslin Bibs are affordable, soft, and 100% organic cotton. Some people shy away from white fabrics for bibs, but I love that they’re white. Being able to bleach away the tough food stains is a win in my book.
With 4 absorbent layers it works beautifully to protect from all kinds of baby mess! They get softer after every wash and also have an easy adjustable snap closure. We have used these from birth and we still use them today.
No. 5 | The Ollie Swaddle
Okay, ladies and gentlemen, this is a MUST have. If you follow along on my Instagram page, you’re probably tired of hearing me talk about this one. We all know how important swaddles are for keeping baby feeling safe and secure at night, but I love this one for SO many reasons. The beautiful fabric, the moisture-wicking material, and the one size fits all design ensures you won’t have to buy multiple swaddles as they grow. This Ollie Swaddle reduces the risk of over-heating and helped Meriwether sleep from the start. When everyone sleeps, everyone is happier, that’s for sure!
No. 6 | Johnson’s CottonTouch Newborn Baby Wash & Shampoo
We’ve used this Johnson’s Baby Wash and the lotion since Meriwether was born. It’s formulated without parabens, dyes, phthalates, sulfates and it’s perfectly pH-balanced for baby’s sensitive skin. Meriwether’s skin is super soft (a lot of my friends with babies comment on how soft her skin is) and I guess it must be because of this wash and lotion. Johnson’s is an incredible, trustworthy baby brand and also really affordable on Amazon!
No. 7 | EZPZ Mini Bowl
We use these bowls every single morning. I received one off my registry from a friend and have purchased more since. They suction to the table or high chair which means no more tipped bowls or plates – plus they clean up so easily with hot water and soap. They’re also dishwasher safe and made of 100% food grade silicone which is BPA, BPS, PVC, lead and phthalate free.
No. 8 | Kolcraft Umbrella Stroller
This little stroller has been so handy for us. We originally bought it on a whim at Walmart while on a beach trip and we’ve loved it ever since. When you just need a small solution for going to the zoo, mall or strolling around the block, this stroller is the ticket. I love that it folds up, but it also has tons of other great features. It has a sun canopy, a mesh backing for hot summer days, and a pillow that unfolds to cover the mesh backing when you need a little more warmth. It also has a cup holder and a small compartment underneath, perfect for your wallet and keys. We use this stroller A LOT…maybe even more than our Uppababy.
As I said, this isn’t everything we use and love on a daily basis, but they’re definitely our staples. I love the quick shipping Amazon provides for pretty much all of the baby products we swear by!
