Pre-Spring Edit: Staples

Pre-Spring Edit: Staples

Spring is my favorite season of the year. My husband and both of my daughters were born in the Spring, which makes for an exciting time of celebration for us ― I'm so thankful for each of them! With March and April being busy, I need easy, practical pieces I can throw on and feel good in each day. Spring is a nice time for styling because you can have fun playing with layers, textures and fresh color palettes.

I'm constantly assessing potential gaps in my wardrobe, but now is a good time to clean out and refresh too. I take note of the types of clothing I find myself reaching for and try to build on those themes as a new season approaches. Throughout my pregnancy and current postpartum/nursing journey, I've been gravitating towards oversized button downs...I wear them almost every day. I feel so effortless and chic in them!

I decided to invest in this perfect shirt and have already worn it several times with my most comfortable denim. I've also worn it with my cream sweatpants around the house...so comfortable and stylish! I also preordered the Navy (on sale) after falling in love with the green ― I went with a size large in both.

Below, you'll see I've highlight a few pieces I've purchased, some I'd recommend based on what I love wearing on repeat during the season, and a couple I'm considering!

a few additions to consider...

a fresh white button down ―

I wore this one from H&M every week during pregnancy and postpartum...decided to get this style from Sézane to rotate!

square toe flats ―

I wear these lightweight flats every week! Love the cool elegance...so much so I bought them in black too. Also available here.

striped knit cardigan ―

love love love...surprisingly don't have a striped cardigan, and thought this style was perfect! (almost sold out)

white linen pant ―

I recently wore my high-rise cropped linen pants on a big travel day to Harbour Island and realized how much I looked forward to wearing them as the weather warmed up in Nashville. I decided to buy inexpensive versions in stripe and white linen from H&M to enjoy without worry!

earth tone denim jacket ―

a stylish friend of mine sent over this jacket link the other week and I've fallen in love with the unique color-way on this classic denim style. An investment, but one you'll enjoy wearing with all the white, cream, brown and black in your wardrobe

crochet crewneck ―

love this crochet sweater with a wavy hem detail...comes in black, white and sage, under $50

comfortable jeans ―

I recently got these jeans in Vintage Indigo and Coal. If you're looking for an ultra comfortable jean with a wider pant leg, these are it. The Light Indigo and Ecru are great for Spring. I easily reach for these over yoga pants because they're so effortless. Went with my true size...love that they're under $100.

comfortable tennis shoes ―

I've worn this style of shoe for years. Ever since I saw the Parisian girls wearing them on my last trip! Come in several different color options and always comfortable

hooded trench ―

I wear my trench coats throughout the seasons and I love that this one has a hood! Plus its oversized and comfortable. A winner.

a-line denim short ―

always enjoy wearing a sweater, comfortable shorts and an easy slide. how flattering the a-line cut is on these...went with my true size

soft, everyday tees in staple colors ―

a friend of mine introduced me to these streamlined tees while we were editing her closet and I went home to buy every color. They sell out often, but usually come back in stock! This style holds up well, is ultra soft and I love the sleeve length. Can't beat the affordable price-tag either. Another favorite, more relaxed tee here

slip dress ―

I love my staple linen slip dress for daytime wear because it easily moves into evening. I love draping a cotton cardigan over my shoulders during the day and then throwing it on as the temperature drops, especially if I head out to dinner. Found this linen dress the other day and thought it would be so flattering ― then I saw this gorgeous blue and loved the tone and fabric. Could dress it up for a wedding or wear it with flat sandals for a casual look.

wave rib knit cardigan ―

if you're looking to invest in a beautiful Spring/Summer cardigan, this style will not disappoint. My white cardigan from the brand has been one I'm always excited to wear, season after season. They're known to offer workhorse staples that will last for seasons to come. Use code SAVE23SF to save $100

While discussing Spring cardigans...I also love my cotton-cashmere pieces from J.Crew. This cardigan is so chic and I love the weight of it for chilly days and around the house. I have it in grey and navy.
