Quilts & Bedding Of Note
I've always had a weak spot for a good cotton quilt. I love the feeling of a freshly laundered blanket wrapped around my shoulders ― especially while snuggling on the couch with the girls or on festive outings during the cooler months. It's similar to the fond memories I have of being engulfed by a warm towel after swimming as a girl. It gives me the same secure, happy feeling.
When we got back from our trip to Hilton Head, we all came down with a cold that lasted about two weeks ― so we've been spending lots of time snuggling in bed.
I recently added this lightweight Jaipur Summer Blanket (via Amanda Lindroth). It's absolutely beautiful ― the photos here don't do it justice!
It features a sweet blue floral geometric and is sheathed in sheer, soft cotton voile. It's the perfect blanket to knock off a slight chill while reading or taking a midday nap. Between being sick and sleepless nights (our sweet Madeline still isn't consistently sleeping through the night, *le sigh*) it's been a lovely addition to the space.
I keep reminding myself that soon I'll have restful nights again. I'll long for the midnight wake ups with my tiny baby in my arms and I'll miss peering into the bassinet each morning by my bedside. It's all so fleeting. And as I've heard from seasoned mothers, one day you'll lose sleep night after night because your children are out there in the world and no longer safely tucked in their beds under your roof. Luckily I have a couple of decades left before that happens because I tear up at the thought.
Anyway ― back to blankets and bedding and things!
a few noteworthy brands I love ―
Boll & Brach - love our white Herringbone bed blanket and eyelet sheets by them
Brahms Mount - we've really enjoyed our Edgecomb Cotton Blanket over the last three years
Garnet Hill - most recent favorite here but they have a great selection in general
Peacock Alley - love their vast offerings and quality. I have a queen set that I love. My mom has the All Seasons Cotton Blankets and they're wonderful too
Etsy - I bought this one last year and we love it for picnics by the lake. This shop always has a few I love
