French Skincare Update

French Skincare Update

At the end of January I treated myself to a Biologique Recherche facial ― something I hadn't done in ages! My friend Emily Hammer first recommended it to me and I will forever be indebted.

In the spirit of being more intentional, this year, I thought I'd make it a real priority to be consistent with a nice skincare regimen. One I can enjoy each night before climbing into bed. I wish I'd started caring for my skin when I was much younger, but c'est la vie. I rarely get my nails done and typically chop my hair at home, so I really use these products as a daily self-care moment once I get the girls tucked in. I'll turn on my favorite soothing music playlist or start listening to a chapter of my book as I tie back my hair.

Note* if you're local to Nashville, I'd recommend visiting Complexion. I've used their AM/PM regimen and its also worked beautifully with my skin.

Biologique Recherche is the epitome of French skincare. They have a reputation for effectiveness and a visionary approach. Post BR facial, I got some product recommendations from the esthetician based on what she observed and my skin has responded beautifully. In true French form, less is more. I currently use their cleanser followed by a cream for redness on my cheeks. I'm also patiently waiting to use my bottle of Lotion P50 PIGM 400 that's sitting on my beauty shelf, which I can start use once I'm done nursing. I've heard its incredible!

Next on my list is the rebalancing face mask called Masque Vivant. With its high concentration of purifying active ingredients, this facial treatment regulates excess sebum and reduces breakouts, leaving the skin clean, healthy and mattified. Emily uses it and swears by it!

I still have a few other favorites outside of the BR line that I've been mixing in where I need ― I'll share all my steps below!

the regimen

I only wash my face and do my skincare regimen at night. In the mornings, I just add some sunscreen and a vitamin c cream under my eyes to wake them up a bit! Detailing my steps below...

first cleanse ―

I love using this Radiant Cleansing Balm to remove my makeup. The balm has a light scent that gives a spa feel. It clears congested pores and removes impurities while dissolving all traces of makeup, leaving my skin balanced, soft, and radiant. One jar usually lasts six months or so. A little goes a long way!

I also keep this gentle foaming cleanser on hand in the shower and I've loved it. It's great for combination to oily skin and doesn't leave skin feeling dry. A new staple for me at a friendly price point!

second cleanse ―

Lait U by Biologique Recherche. I like this product better as a second cleanse after majority of my makeup has been washed away. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and very soft.

for redness ―

Crème Verte Espoir A.R. by Biologique Recherche. It acts on broken capillaries, visibly reducing their appearance to decreases the extent and intensity of redness (only apply to my cheeks at night)

for extra hydration ―

Have been obsessed with these two for the last year or so! A little goes a long way with each ― Tata Harper Restorative Eye Cream and Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. Using both of these give my skin incredible moisture.

exfoliation and masks ―

morning sunscreen

I love this SPF option to apply under makeup and this mineral option if I'm spending the day outdoors by the pool or at the park with the girls. Wish I'd started wearing daily sunscreen earlier in life!

to wake up the eyes

This vitamin c serum in the mornings, has lasted 6+ months. I dispense onto my finger to control the flow of product a bit better! You only need a very small amount
